I consider myself spiritual, but not religious.  Two things help me get in touch with my spiritual side.  Being in nature, what I refer to as being in the Temple of the Tall Trees is one and visiting the Quan Yin statue at the Buddhist temple in Peoria, Thien Tam Temple, at the top of Union Street Hill.  Did everyone know Peoria had a Buddhist Temple?

I think I may have heard there was a Buddhist temple in Peoria, just didn't know where.

I knew there was one, but wasn't sure of its location. It sounds like an awesome place to visit though!

The last time I went to see Quan Yin, I was invited inside and given a tour of the main level.  Nicely done.  Don't know if they have started teaching Mindfulness yet or not, but would love to be involved in that training.  I took off my shoes at the entrance and put on a pair of the slides they have available.  Was not about to go against their tradition after the welcome!
